2) Dressing up your dog – do so safely! Ensure that whatever your doggy is wearing is comfortable, and that your furry friend has ample space to move. Make sure nothing is too tight-fitting, and that he can easily trot about the house in whatever outfit you’ve got him wearing. Ensure he can hear and bark as well. ASPCA also recommends trying a dress rehearsal just before Halloween to make sure your dog is comfortable in his costume.
3) Keep an eye trained on your dog! PetMD reminds us to keep our dogs nearby at all times! Dogs left unattended outside can be the target of horrible pranksters.
4) Know your dog! If you know your doggy’s the type to become rattled at the sight of a stranger at the door, it may be best to keep them inside a room in the house as trick-or-treaters pop on by, PetInsurance.com suggests.
