If you’re a dog lover (which we’re guessing you are if you’re here) and you’re looking for a way to support homeless pets while also providing a great indoor potty alternative for your own, DoggieLawn has you covered!
We’ve made it a goal of ours to donate a needed item to a pet shelter for every new subscriber we gain, and to donate a portion of our annual Amazon sales to a pet charity. So, if you made an Amazon purchase of a DoggieLawn product this year, you’ve already helped a humane pet shelter provide sorely needed accommodations to the pets they serve.This year, we’ve decided to make our charitable donation to PetSmart Charities!
PetSmart Charities is more than just a charity; it is the top contributor to animal welfare in North America. For 25 years, PetSmart Charities has strengthened the bond between local communities and their furry friends by granting $400 million to 4,000 nonprofits and governmental entities across the US and Canada, and helping 8.5 million pets find forever homes.
Ninety cents of every dollar donated to PetSmart Charities goes towards helping pets in need get adopted by loving families, and fortunately for our furry friends, their reach is tremendous. PetSmart Charities works to administer low-cost veterinary services and carries out spay and neutering initiatives to prevent the rise of pet homelessness and promote the wellbeing of shelter pets. Not only this, but they encourage pet adoption across the continent by holding National Adoption Weekends (which happen four times every year- check out this link for more information).
They also offer grants to help families in crisis stay together by providing their pets with temporary shelter under trying circumstances like domestic abuse and incarceration. They also provide funding to assist pets in need in the instance of natural disasters. Additionally, they offer grants for pets entering pet therapy programs specifically geared towards providing pet therapy to children’s hospitals.
PetSmart Charities utilizes their social media presence and webpage to promote shelter pups and kitties across the continent in the hopes that some pet mom or dad (or both) will fall head over heels! And really, what’s not to love?
