With the holiday season now upon us, many homes are now filled to the brim with holiday decorations. Whether this includes outside lights, a Christmas tree, or even just a string of tinsel, even the simplest holiday decoration can pose some sort of danger to your pooch. Here are a few things to keep an eye out before you deck your halls: 
1) Lights! When wrapping you tree with a string of lights, make sure you avoid wrapping them along the lower rungs of the tree. Your pooch could possibly grab onto the low-hanging lights, become entangled in the fixture, or possibly burn or shock themselves, according to PetMD.
2) Plants – While mistletoe symbolizes a sure-fire way to get a kiss, it’s not exactly the wisest plant to have nearby your dog. Neither are holly and poinsettias. According to AKC, these holiday hits are actually poisonous for our furry friends.
3) Tinsel – If digested, this sparkly holiday staple could send your dog to the hospital. Tinsel could block your dog’s intestinal track, as can other holiday wrapping paper and ornaments.
