My elderly parents and their elderly pug moved into a second-floor apartment a couple months ago. The Doggie Lawn is perfect on their balcony. Dandi the Pug, who had used a real grass back yard all her life, adapted to her new miniature lawn on the balcony with no trouble โ we just carried her straight to the balcony when she first arrived at the apartment. We knew she was due for a potty break after the drive. She peed on the grass right away and has used it without any trouble ever since then.
This system works for us because we have younger, able-bodied family in the same town who can bring in the new lawn and take away the used one every couple weeks. It would be too heavy for my parents to handle on their own at this time. The real grass is nice and easy for Dandi, and we love that the used grass can be tossed in a heap to compost.
