How to travel with your dog: Dallas Edition

You might think that traveling to a large city, like Dallas, with your dog would be challenging. However, there are actually many ways you can have a great time in this city with your favorite furry animal. Before you make the trip, however, you first need to know a little more about what to expect and which dog friendly places in Dallas you will have the best time at.

For example, Lee Harvey's is a casual bar that offers convenient, outdoor seating for pet owners. What's even better about this restaurant is that it even has a special day devoted to dogs. On Sunday's pet owners can bring their dogs to run and play with other dogs in the enclosed area just outside the restaurant.

Katy Trail Ice House is another great stop for those with pets. It offers great burgers and beer and has a great patio for pet owners. Along with these restaurants, you will also want to check out Bolsa. This is a great restaurant for those who want to taste the local cuisine and enjoy a great atmosphere.

Mutts, is a restaurant and dog-park that lets your dog and you run around wild. All dogs, besides pitbulls, are allowed inside the dog park unleashed and allowed on the porch leashed. At $9.95 a month or $4.95 per day, this dog park is a definite must see when in Dallas.

As you can see, there are a number of pet-friendly restaurants in the Dallas area that are perfect for you and your dog. Events to Visit

Depending on the time of year you are visiting Dallas, you may find that there is a great event for you to attend with your dog. It offers free microchipping of dogs, goodie bags, "Ask the Vet" tents, and an assortment of great vendors.

Keep in mind that there are also several dog parks all throughout the city. NorthBark Dog Park has over 22 acres of off-leash space. It even has separate areas for smaller and larger dogs to keep everyone comfortable. Another great dog park is White Rock Lake, which has access for swimming, and other great amenities. Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve is also a great place to bring your leashed dog to enjoy 600 acres of the beautiful Texas outdoors.
