Places where you and your dog can lie your head

There are an array of hotels welcoming you and your dog. There are a couple that goes the extra mile to accommodate your dog. Wherever you stay, be sure to have a DoggieLawn available for your pup so they have a place to potty.

  • The James Hotel on Ontario St. is a luxury boutique hotel that treats your dog the way you do. They provide bowls and snacks in your room. How about a pooch massage or room service bones from the hotel's steakhouse?
  • Allegro Chicago on Randolph St. welcomes your small or large dog at no additional fee with a goodie bag and complimentary leash, bed and bowl set for use during your stay. The provide dog walking and sitting arrangements too.

Attractions welcoming Dogs

Navy Pier is a very dog-friendly place and is the number one tourist attraction in the State. Bring you dog, walk and mingle with other dog lovers.

Seadog Cruises welcomes aboard well-behaved pooches. Famous for their humorous and informative narrations of the historic tours around the Chicago waterways.

Harry Caray’s Tavern Navy Pier is famous for the iconic man it is named for, but have a souvenir bowl and treat for your dog while you enjoy some Chicago food.

Antique Coach and Carriage Company has carriage rides down Michigan Ave., the loop and State Street and your dog is welcome on the ride.

Beach time in the City

Montrose Harbor Dog Beach is the place for you and your dog. Dogs allowed off-leash as they frolic in the Lake Michigan waves lapping on the shore. It is free and there is even a restaurant. Lakeshore Drive in Chicago is the place for this fun dog beach experience.

Belmont Harbor is off Lake Shore Dr. too. This is a small area for on-leash dogs. Certainly nowhere near as fun as Montrose Beach but a nice alternative for a beach on Lake Michigan visit.

Off-leash parks are Pawfect

There are many off-leash parks in Chicago and the surrounding areas. Many of the dog parks require a daily fee but are well worth it. Explore the forest preserve dog parks for nature and exercise adventures.

Restaurants welcoming Dog lovers and their Pups

  • Scozzi’s on Heron St., offers Italian dishes, and has an excellent wine list for you, and a doggy menu for your furry companion.
